Rallying for Joy (even when it's hard)
When I invited you to this list, several of you had the openness to share that you were going through some kind of struggle right now. That so many of you shared this just highlights the fact that we are never alone in our difficulties.
Whatever you are up to, or possibly up against, I want to give you encouragement. To let you know that I am rooting for you! And remind you that things change, grow and evolve. We really are all in this together, even when it doesn't feel like it.
One of my favorite joy practices is TGIF, a weekly reflection from author, Brené Brown. It always brings me peace and puts me in touch with all that is good in my world:
T - What am I trusting?
G - What am I grateful for?
I - What inspires me?
F - How am I practicing my faith? (Whatever that means to you.)
I'll share mine. Please feel free to reply with yours, as well. I'd love to read them!
Today I am trusting that I am where I am supposed to be, even when it doesn't always make sense. I am grateful that I've taken a leap! And for my wonderful mom. I am inspired by blank canvases and the stirrings of my own heart. I am practicing my faith with prayer, moments of quiet, truthfulness.
The first week of my adventure has had more than it's expected share of struggle. Touchdown was exhilarating, the landscape is beautiful, the creativity has flowed, but I admit, so have a few tear drops. When I first announced plans for this excursion several of you said I was brave. Now I am understanding why. Diving in to anything with a whole, open heart is um, terrifying. But I wouldn't have it any other way. More on this next time!
Thanks again for being along for the ride. It means so much to me.
❤️
